Spartanburg County deputies arrest man who they say escaped home detentionFrom staff reportsA man who authorities say escaped from home detention in June by removing his ankle monitor was captured just before noon today.
Rashawn Reeder
Rashawn L. Reeder, who already faced a charge of murder and two counts of assault and battery with intent to kill in connection with a March 2009 shooting, was taken into custody at Westgate Apartments by Spartanburg County deputies and State Law Enforcement Division agents. According to a written statement from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office, Reeder was armed with a handgun at the time of his arrest. Reeder and Darius Cathcart were charged in the March 14, 2009, shooting death of 16-year-old Duncan Lamar "AJ" Geter. Reeder also is charged in the shooting of Bryant Miller, 22. Reeder was injured by gunfire in the altercation.
