226 Are Lodged in Jail In AprilCharges From Murder to Trespass, Disturbing Worship BookedTwo hundred twenty-six persons were lodged in the county jail on various charges and for detention during investigation in the month of April, according to records at the county jail. The offenses charged ranged form murder to trespassing and disturbing religious worship, the records showed. Included in the total were a number of persons who had been out on bond but who came into the jail preliminary to trial at the term of General Sessions Court which was held during the month. The report shows that 9 persons were arrested for violating the prohibition law; 17 for assault and battery; 2 for statutory offense; 45 for drunk and disorderly charges; 1 for disturbing a religious service; 5 for highway robbery; 1 for blackmail; 2 for arson; 10 for housebreaking and grand larceny, and 6 for grand larceny.
