Spartanburg County taxpayers' sprawling new courthouse and jail will be dedicated in ceremonies at 11 a.m. today. Prior to the dedication, visitors are invited to inspect the new structures. The giant marble, aluminum and steel installation cost approximately $2,300,000. This aerial view shows the courtroom wing, upper left, and county offices, upper right. The wing on the lower left is the new jail. Dedication services today will be the climax of a program started 12 years ago, when the building was planned. Construction was started in July of 1956.
